We had an amazing experience during our ten day trip in the Exumas. Everything was beautiful. From the water to the abundant sea wildlife that we saw. The beauty is indescribable and has to be experienced in person to appreciate it. Add to all that the great food and the royal treatment we got the entire trip made it an unforgettable experience. Ian and Lynn were wonderful hosts who took care of all our needs. It’s a trip we’ll never forget.
My husband and I had a wonderful time with Lynn and Ian aboard Windward. We saw gorgeous(!) sites, partook in amazing adventures, and ate tasty, tasty food. We hope to be lucky enough to book another trip with Windward. Truly, can\'t wait to do it again!
First off, Ian and Lynn are the most wonderful hosts. Lynn is such a thoughtful person and great cook-she kept us full of delicious food and drink all week! Ian is very laid back and a passionate sailor. They both are so interesting and we very much enjoyed our time with them. The boat is beautifully kept, homey, and ultra cozy. Our hosts have a love and appreciation for the wonder of the Bahamas out islands which they generously shared with my husband and I. From taking us snorkeling on remote coral reefs to hiking on uninhabited islands, Ian and Lynn made our week on the Windward such an unforgettable adventure. Everything was tailored specifically to our liking and we just couldn’t be more pleased. We feel so blessed to have experienced a week living aboard the Windward, and recommend this trip to anyone seeking a relaxing getaway or an adventure at sea! We are already thinking of a return trip!
Lyn and Ian were so focused on are stay it was fabulous. They take great pride and care in their boat and your vacation. The food was gourmet and everything tasted wonderful from to start to finish! The views and snorkeling are some of the best in the world and it was clear Ian knew where the wildlife lived from fish to eagle rays we saw so much. Great trip wonderful time we will never forget.
My boyfriend and I stayed aboard the Windward in March 2018. This trip exceeded all expectations! First, our hosts, Lynn & Ian, were amazing people to spend a week with. They are super cool, fun people. They’ll be as active as you like. Sailing was a unique way to experience The Exumas, since there are so many islands. We went further and saw more places than I thought were possible. They have a dinghy which they used to take us into remote beaches, coral reefs, fishing flats, etc. Their knowledge of the area, location of reefs, fish, tides, wind, currents, etc. was so helpful in planning activities in a way you can’t imagine until you’ve experienced it. They both have many years of sailing/hosting experience and it really shows. The previous reviews were right: the food was excellent! Everything Lynn made was delicious & there was fresh ground coffee each morning! The great thing about this is that it’s truly all inclusive; everything you can think of (even things you don’t) is included: meals, snacks, coffee, alcohol, drinks, the dinghy, snorkel gear, fishing licenses, spear fishing licenses, lobstering licenses, boat gas, anchoring fees...Also, their truly priceless knowledge. It made the trip stress-free for us both. Staying on land wouldn’t have allowed us to get the full experience of The Exumas the way we did with them on their boat (which was very clean & in excellent condition). We did so many things on this trip: flyfishing for bonefish & barracuda, deep-sea fishing, spear fishing, snorkeling, swimming, visiting remote private beaches...They customize it to whatever you want & take care of absolutely everything. My boyfriend & I agree: The Exumas are the most beautiful place either of us have ever seen, and we’ve both traveled a lot. The pictures can’t capture the beauty. The location alone makes this the perfect setting for a great vacation, but having experienced hosts like Lynn & Ian to show you around all the best places and really create a trip around your tastes, made this even more amazing. The way we were able to experience the islands & how they made this trip so personal for us really made this a truly unique experience that we still can’t stop talking about. We were planning our return trip with them before we left! This is a great vacation for an active couple looking to have an awesome adventure together, who want a truly unique experience. I cannot recommend this enough!
