We were looking for a vacation this year that was low key but in an area that still had lots to offer if we decided to venture out. Scituate and this home delivered big time! We spent a day in Boston, but other than that, we stuck close to the home and the lovely little towns of Scituate and Cohasset. The house is stocked SO well, every normal household item you’re used to having is available, which was awesome. The house was exactly what we needed and the fact that it is right on the water/beach was amazing for us. Could you find a more luxurious house? Yes, but it met our needs very nicely and let’s be honest, you don’t need opulence to have an amazing vacation. We spent 95% of our time outside and exploring. We loved swimming, catching crabs, finding cool rocks, flying kites, taking walks and runs down the beach. It was awesome to get to connect with our boys without a bunch of distractions. It’s a trip that we won’t soon forget because we were able to focus on being together and spending quality time without our very busy schedules getting in the way. Thank you Scituate for your quaint beautiful rest and relaxation. Thank you Dean and Vida for sharing your great home!! We hope to come back in the future and I would without reservation recommend to others.
We had a great time here. The house was perfect for our family of nine. Kids enjoyed the beach and water. We would return here.
This home and location could not have been more perfect for our annual family vacation. The owner, Dean, was very kind and helpful - we enjoyed meeting and talking with him. There were 12-14 of us there at any time (mostly adults as well as junior high age children) and there was plenty of room for all of us. The open concept first floor let us all be together for meal prep and evening activities. The kitchen was the best stocked with dishes, appliances, and spices that we\'ve seen in 10 years of renting places. The house is right on a beautiful private beach and a first floor deck had enough seating for us to eat outside together and enjoy the ocean each dinner. We were all able to choose our favorite spots during the day including the deck, on the beach in chairs, or floating in the ocean on boogie boards and all be together since the home is right on the beach. Beautiful sunrises and sunsets from either the first or third floor decks were magical. Scituate is a lovely, quite town with a larger grocery store very close by. The \"guys\" went deep sea fishing leaving from town ( minutes away) and caught some cod for dinner and the captain gave us a bonus lobster! We went for treasured daily walks and runs on the beach. Even the neighboring public beach is for town residents only and is quiet. This is really a perfect home and location for relaxing and fun-filled family time together!
This was chosen for our annual reunion of old English university friends, mainly from England, but I am now Canadian. We are four couples in our early 70\'s and Dean\'s house could not be more ideal. It exudes comfort without being fussy, with three excellent bedrooms overlooking Massachusetts Bay and two at the back that are smaller. All the required amenities and supplies are at hand so check before bringing too many spices etc. The area is perfect; nearby unostentatious magnificent Cape Cod housing in gorgeous flowered, treed gardens in Hingham and Cohasset (just take a drive along Jerusalem Road). Scituate Harbor provides good restaurants with other compelling views and fine retail for wine and gifts. You can\'t do better than this.
Amazing location and Dean and Vida are wonderful hosts. The house is great for 13+ with plenty of kitchen space, toys for the kids, books, gathering places and quiet spaces. Time of year does not matter -- as the ocean is beautiful year round. We highly recommend it!
