Painted coral pink with a lemonade-yellow interior, this 4-bedroom bungalow welcomes guests to a sunny living area with a seamless flow between the gourmet kitchen, dining area and parlor, where two comfy sofas face a flat-screen TV. A wall of large picture windows streams light into this level with views the canal.
Styled in classic beach decor with whimsical accent furniture, including a starfish-patterned armchair and a deck-style coffee table, this main level evokes a feeling of carefree coastal living. In the fully equipped kitchen, stained-glass palm trees hang above granite countertops. In the dining area, a hardwood picnic-style table seats up to 8 guests. Two stools at the breakfast bar provide additional kid-friendly seating to accommodate large families.
Just outside, a wrap-around deck with a four-seat patio table and hammock invite you to soak in the views, catch up with friends over morning coffee, or enjoy an al fresco meal cooked on the private gas grill.
Up the stairs are two of this home’s four bedrooms. The first features warm, peach-hued walls, a cast-iron double bed and meditative ocean paintings. The second, painted lemon yellow, has a wicker bed frame, hardwood accent furniture and a bright, coral-hued en-suite bathroom.
On the third level is the spacious master suite, which has a queen-sized canopy bed, a high-top sitting area with twin chairs, and an en-suite bath with an antique soaker tub. A private deck offers expansive views of the surrounding marsh and harbor. The kid-friendly fourth bedroom features one set of twin bunk beds and an additional twin bed to bring the total sleeping arrangements to nine guests. Harbor Key Cottage is an ideal home for multi-generational families or couples traveling together with kids.
With the beach steps away and a fully equipped kitchen to stock groceries, you may never want to leave home, but to explore you’ll find a complimentary golf cart in the driveway. You’ll also enjoy community pool access at the Harbor Island Beach & Racquet Club, a 10-minute walk away. Small dogs under 25 lbs are allowed for an additional $150 fee.
Staying on Harbor Island includes access to the pools, fitness center, tennis courts and basketball court. Harbor Island does charge for car passes onto the island. This home offers 1 free passes when renting for 7 nights. Shorter stays do not include the cost of car passes which must be purchased in advance.
