My husband Chris and I have lived on St. Thomas for over 20 years. He came to dive, I came to sail. We met by chance and discovered we both have a love of the water and the Caribbean life style. Chris is very talented and knew he wanted to live here permanently, so he built a house on the top of the hill. We got married in 1995, and often talked about making the home we love accessible to guests. In 2008 we expanded it to accommodate guests in our downstairs studio apartment. We are thrilled with the way it turned out as it captures the Caribbean life style that we love. 
 
The apartment has been so popular that we decided to build a one bedroom cottage. It took a year and I am so happy to say the we finally finished it on July 4th. Independence day has new meaning. It is a Caribbean dream cottage with spectacular views. We marvel at how many humming birds call the apartment home and now it seems that the green parrots have up living in the tress near the cottage. 
 
I'm sure up will love it too. The spacious porch is a perfect way to enjoy your first cup of coffee or to sit back in the evening and watch the colors change over the islands with a cool beverage in your hand. The trade winds will keep you cool as you sit outside from breakfast to diner, and of course if needed there is air conditioning.

What makes this Cottage unique
We are close to everything but feel a million miles away when we reach the top of the hill. We are close to all the restaurants that Red Hook has to offer. Plus the maket is close as well. If you want to go to St John and the National Park the ferry is at the bottom of the hill.
The cottage faces East so we get spectacular sunrises. There are hummingbirds that come for breakfast as well as parotts.
It is a stand alone cottage so all yours.
It's perfect for your vacation or come for the winter.

The \'Cottage\' is everything promised and more! The place is just like the pictures, and the VIEW is just spectacular. Maxine & Chris are great hosts, helping us settle in properly and having helpful knowledge about navigating the island. I can\'t wait to come back and stay with them again!

Red Hook Charm


Great location to access the beaches and snorkeling on St Thomas, as well as St John and BVI, which we did 3 times this week. View of the marina and bay and is lovely. Clean and well stocked rental but most important was the fantastic hospitality of Max. Perfect for two people with a rental car (which I think is a must for this locale). This is a fun place to come back to ...in a heartbeat! Dog lovers beware, Louie, may steal your heart

The best on the island! Max was such a gracious host, and her attention to detail makes this cottage so warm and friendly ! I felt like I was in a gorgeous movie set! Yes, the views and location are the best, no doubt, but the sense of relaxation you feel when your up at the top is one I will remember for many years to come. I loved the bedroom - watching the sunrise over the ocean and the moon at night with a warm breeze blowing in was my favorite part. It has it all hands down!! I’m not sure I’ve ever felt so comfy on a stay . Loved every minute of it! Thank you Max... you made our visit to the island so memorable.
