We enjoyed the yurt! It is so quiet at this property. We enjoyed the solitude. We did not hear dogs barking like some of the other reviews said. Comforts of home with a rustic feel
Very different experience comparing to a hotel. Perfect for a short trip.
Our first time in a yurt. We enjoyed the solitude on the lava. The yurt had everything we needed, taking into account we had to bring our own drinking water. Electricity from the solar supply had to be used sparingly...this was not a problem for us. Furnishings rustic, especially in the bathroom. The tent -like yurt gave us a sense of connection to nature and to the power of Pele’s lava around us. We enjoyed the views and the silence.
My partner and I stayed at the yurt for a week and used it as a base to explore everywhere from Hilo to Kona. Great to return to our own kitchen, a very comfy bed, and some peace and quiet among the stars after a long day. We even weathered a storm with sustained 35 knot winds for 2 days and the yurt did spectacularly. The day and night views from the deck are worth the drive!
