Description

Crescent Beach has received to 2017/18 Certificates of Excellence.  Sky is a home away from home - a 2100 sq.ft. upper floor apartment built in 2015 with 3 bed/bath, open living, dining and kitchen area with superb sea views. Perfect for families who like quiet, remote living but with many amenities within 30 minutes driving. A second apartment, Sand, is on the ground floor and offers similar amenities. The interior is modern, tastefully decorated and well equipped for cooking and entertainment. Kitchen appliances include gas stove, microwave, double door fridge/freezer, dish washer, combo washing machine/dryer. All lighting within both Sand and Sky is LED and high efficiency central air units are easily controlled from a simple thermostat. Doors are equipped with "open" detectors which will switch off the air conditioning if a patio door is left open. Our goal has been to try to conserve energy and use it efficiently for the comfort of our guests. Master bedroom features king bed, second and third bedroom features Twin beds which can be converted to King. cots are available on request.
 
There is a pool, courtyard with barbeque and eating facility. The Games room is equipped with pool table; table tennis and dart board. 
The home theatre is comfortably equipped with bean bags and chairs. There is a large selection of DVDs.
Situated in a protected zone, the beach is a turtle nesting site and opens onto a 200x100 yard bay with living coral and a low-lying reef. 
A variety of top local restaurants are within 10 minutes driving and one of Cayman's best diver operations is just 8 minutes away.
Sky is very elevated with the front patio and the ocean-facing balcony being 15 feet high. Tempered safety glass balusters form the railings to ensure a superb view even from inside the apartment.  
 
For larger families or for special events such as weddings or family reunions, Sand and Sky together provide six bedrooms in total for a maximum party of 12 persons. And with just under one acre of sandy grounds and tropical gardens, it is a perfect site for the wedding itself.

About Paul de Freitas

Paul and Fay Anne de Freitas are both world travellers who settled in the Cayman Islands in 1983. Brought up in Guyana, England and Ireland, and having lived in the USA, Antigua and Grenada, we bring a knowledge of what is needed to instinctively feel comfortable and at home in a new environment. Paul is involved in a company which produces banking software and travels fairly regularly to his office in Sweden.

Paul and Fay Anne built this Apartment in 2014.

Why Paul de Freitas chose East End

Paul and Fay Anne recognised that unique beach property is hard to find. And the Half Moon Bay is very unique - a coral garden. With grounds of an acre and deep deposits of white sand over a stable ironshore base, the site offered many possibilities for development. We decided to place a twin apartment structure on the east side of the property since this kind of layout maximises privacy for individual renters. We designed Crescent Beach from the ground up and it has received certificates of excellence. .Crescent Beach is an extension of our personality and even includes artwork from Fay Anne.

What makes this Apartment unique

Crescent Beach is unique because its beach fronts a small bay, Half Moon Bay, full of living coral gardens among which you can walk - only on the sandy bits please. It is even more unique because the properties to the east and west have iron-shore frontage - a tough, craggy, limestone rock - and for this reason, the usual rule of the beach being open to walkers up to the high water mark really does not apply. To access the beach, third parties would have to cross private property. So for visitors keen on quiet relaxation, but fast and convenient access to restaurants, diving, and about 30 minutes away, the big city - George Town and Camana Bay, Crescent Beach affords the best of both worlds.

PERFECT Escape!!


Crescent Beach - Sky was the PERFECT escape from the Michigan winter!! Beautiful location - Pool was wonderful for relaxing in - Snorkeling directly in front of property was great - Kayaks were put to use every day - many good restaurants just a short drive away without having to fight the 7-mile beach craziness!! Appreciated the new little \"shop rite\" within walking distance for last minute items or an ice cream bar :) Paul and Fay Anne were wonderful host/hostess and we were blessed to share their beautiful property for one week ...wishing we would have made it longer!! Loved being on the East and would highly recommend staying at Crescent Beach with Paul and Fay Anne!! We thoroughly enjoyed a day at Rum Point, which was an easy drive around the East End of the Island, but to be honest the views, privacy and comfort of Crescent Beach were hard to leave and so when some of our party headed to 7 Mile Beach we chose to stay and enjoy Crescent Beach all to ourselves!!

2nd stay just as wonderful as our first stay


This was our second time staying at Crescent Beach and our first time staying in the sky apartment. The things we really enjoy about this home and location are: quiet location- you really do have the area to yourselves easy to find restaurants for meals: 10-25 min drive. In January we never waited for a seating. snorkeling- walk into the water from the beach or head to another beach access down the road owners willingness and availability to attend to guests needs We plan to come back and hope to stay at Crescent Beach again.

Amazing Island! Amazing Property! Amazing Location! Amazing Hosts!


My wife and I went to Grand Cayman 25 years ago before kids and have always considered it our favorite Caribbean/Winter destination. This time we took all three of our kids plus a fiancé as the one last hurrah before the kids go out on their own and make their own family memories. We were right on 7 mile beach the first time and like to get off the beaten path any more while traveling so we looked at options on the East end. I will have to say that we were very excited with the listing at crescent beach on Home Away. It looked amazing and just what we were looking for. It has been rare in our experience, but pictures and descriptions don\'t capture how wonderful this property is! The layout is perfect, the quality is amazing, the hosts are like a trusted neighbor that is always available to help and advise you but is not intrusive and you can literally be in the ocean in about a dozen long strides. We went back to Cemetery Beach on 7 mile beach where we were at 25 years ago to take in an afternoon of snorkeling because of my memory of how great the reefs were. I was amazed to find that the snorkeling right in front of our rental on crescent beach was even better. Listen to Paul for recommendations for grocery stores and restaurants as he was spot on. There is even a good hospital, a very convenient smaller grocery/liquor store and a restaurant right around the corner about 2 minutes away. We also had some pretty good pizza at the Lighthouse Restaurant in the first little settlement to the West one night when we felt the need to lay off the seafood for a meal. We took an easy 45 minute drive to the furthest point of the island from our location for our daughter to swim with the dolphins and the whole family to ride horses on the beach and even take off the saddles and literally swim the horses out in the ocean. While we were down there we also did the sea turtle experience and had a great lunch right on the ocean at the Cracked Conch. We also took a half day to head down to the area in Georgetown where the cruise ships let off passengers and the ladies shopped till they dropped while my nineteen year old son who could legally drink for the first time and I got a patio table at Margeritaville and chilled with great drinks and food. The living space at the house was just perfect and the view off the deck amazing. We can\'t thank Paul and Faye Anne enough for giving our family a very fond memory that will last a lifetime.

Crescent Beach is Fantastic!


We had a lovely week at Crescent Beach. The property was exactly as advertised. Amazing location with complete privacy. Every amenity was included. The views and snorkeling were spectacular. Host was incredibly accommodating. Highly recommended!
