Description

This East Bay Cottage in Point Richmond is rented at least one month or longer, and no pets allowed.
 
The space
The Cottage is fully furnished and outfitted. It's perfect for people coming to the area for a month or longer to work, travel, visit grandchildren, and it's perfect for boaters. King size bed with comfy Tempur-pedic mattress. Full size sofa bed in living area. Full size appliances including washer and dryer in unit. Computer alcove with high speed internet. Patio and porch with seating. California native plant garden with large live oak tree separating the cottage from the sidewalk. Enjoy lemons from the lemon tree by the porch. Flat screen TV. Off-street parking.
 
We have traveled extensively and, therefore, know what travelers need. We've provided everything. We've even purchased some items abroad that we found useful but not available in the U.S. What we hadn't thought of our first guests have, and now those items are provided, too.
 
Close to historic downtown Point Richmond--a two minute walk to groceries, shops, bank, pharmacy, cafes, pub, restaurants, live theater, newly restored swimming pool from the 1920's, etc. Walking routes, hiking areas, the Bay Trail, water vistas, boating facilities are all in the vicinity. Close to freeways and bridges taking you to Marin County, the wine country, Sacramento, and of course to San Francisco. Public transportation to everywhere starting with a local bus to BART and now ferry service to SF! Golden Gate Transit stops here and takes you across the bridge to Marin County.
 
Point Richmond is a quaint and friendly community. It is surprising how many people in the Bay Area have never heard of it! It is aptly called "the hidden city." Because it's a true community, there are events going on regularly such as an outside music festival in the summer and acoustic music events in an indoor area.
 
We, the owners live next door and are happy to make your stay as pleasant as possible without intruding. Maps, menus, and suggestions are available in the cottage. Got questions? We've got answers. For your information, the cancellation policy is "Long Term." 
 
Guest access
We encourage guests to go through the cupboards to see what supplies are available. There are condiments, canned goods, cleaning supplies, extra linens, etc. Guests should also read through the binders we've provided for them with info on restaurants, sightseeing, etc. There is also a binder with instructions for using appliances, cleaning pots & pans, etc. We've collected maps, public transit info, and brochures to assist you in enjoying your stay.
 
Other things to note
California is going through a drought. Therefore, any water usage needs to be considered. This includes, but not limited to, length of showers, dripping water, washing small loads in the washing machine, and also electricity use. Washing cars at the property is strictly forbidden.

When you are interested in reserving the Cottage and our contact information is revealed, we will send you contract paperwork with all the house rule details to read and sign.
 
Minimum stay is one (1) month.  Check the calendar for odd amounts of time BETWEEN stays if you wish to stay less than a month.  TOT taxes apply for stays of less than a month.  
 
The strict house rules ensure that the property is as described and shown in the photos. The cottage is well appointed, well maintained and clean for your comfort and ease.
 
This is a NON SMOKING both indoors and out of doors. Smoking is prohibited by City Ordinance 25 feet from any public space, window or door to a business, or from a residence. 
 
Tenant shall not make or permit any loud or improper noise, or otherwise disturb residential neighbors, and shall not talk on the path, porch or patio after 9:00 p.m. any day or before 8:00 a.m. week days and 9:00 a.m. weekends.
 
Pets are not permitted.
 
A refundable security deposit of $500 is required at time of booking. It will be fully refunded if the following provisions are met:
 
+ no damage is done beyond normal wear and tear
+ all charges accrued during the stay are paid prior to departure
+ no linens or other contents are lost or damaged
+ no excessive cleaning is necessary
+ all dishes are clean and put away
+ furniture is in original placement
+ all keys are returned prior to departure
 
Rental rates include electricity use up to $100; beyond that additional rates will be required. The bill from the utilities arrives near the beginning of the month. 
 
No daily housekeeping service. The tenants are responsible for keeping the cottage clean. Products and appliances are provided for that purpose. The waste baskets will be emptied daily after 9 a.m. by the proprietors or their agents unless arranged otherwise. A mid-month house cleaning is required.

I was a travel nurse staying for a 3 month period at Linda’s and it was more than I could’ve asked! She has thought of everything you need and the place is tucked back away from the street so it’s very peaceful and was perfect for my night shift schedule! I would recommend this place 100 percent!

Great Location!


This cottage provided the perfect location for our recent trip to the Bay Area. It was an oasis of peace and quiet, but within walking distance of many shops and restaurants. (We loved the pizza place in particular!) The owner provides a wealth of information on the area, and the accommodations were wonderfully kept up. And for those who care, great wireless internet service as well. Would definitely recommend!

Wonderful Stay!!


It has been wonderful staying in Linda's cottage in Point Richmond. She put so much thought and care into the details, which make this a very cozy and comfortable place to stay. There is a nice sense of privacy, although Linda has always been available to answer any questions I may have. She pointed me in the direction of beautiful places along the San Francisco Bay to go for runs or walks. And I have been doing this almost every day, taking in the gorgeous views and fresh sea air, and observing the birds and other wildlife. There are also great little grocery stores, restaurants, and shops within short walking distance. I highly recommend the Annex to anyone looking for a comfortable place to stay while spending time in the Bay Area and the historic town of Point Richmond.
