Each cabin features an original theme and a wood-burning fireplace to cozy up and rekindle the romance, complete with theme-appropriate costumes to add to the roleplaying fun. There are various room accommodations the Cottages offers:
 
Robin and Marians- Draping vines over the Jacuzzi, half canopy bed, Lady Marian's dress, and Robin's hood. Wood burning fireplace, Jacuzzi for 2, microwave, compact refrigerator, TV, queen size bed, Keurig coffee maker, countertop ice-maker, and a hair dryer.   Theme appropriate costuming "For picture purposes only please".
 
Antony and Cleopatra- Hand painted hieroglyphics on the walls, temple of Karnak mural behind the Jacuzzi, sandstone walls, half canopy bed, King Tut's hand painted masks, papyrus artwork, sandstone shower for two. Wood burning fireplace, Jacuzzi for two, microwave, compact refrigerator, TV, queen size bed, Keurig coffee maker, countertop ice-maker, and a hair dryer.
 
Woodland Tree House- Welcome to the Woodland Tree House. Our most adventurous theme cottage is fifteen feet off the ground, surrounded by century old pine trees. From the spacious deck, you can watch the sunset on the lake. Go inside, and you are taken back in time to old world craftsmanship. Carved ceiling beams and window trim accent the old plaster walls. A giant apple tree, home to the woodland animals, shades the fireplace and hot tub. The hot tub, carved out of the surrounding rock, is lined with Italian marble. Silk plants and flowers give it a feeling of being in the middle of a forest. A love seat for two provides a cozy place to enjoy the wood-burning fireplace. Climb the spiral staircase up into the bedroom loft. The hand carved queen sized bed is one-of-a-kind. You are now 24 feet off the ground, and you can see clear across the lake to Fawnskin through the large picture window.  This is a very private getaway for a night you will never forget. Warning, lots of stairs! The Castle Garden- We've put everything into this cabin to make it a unique and romantic adventure, including a moat with waterfall, your own private gazebo, dining room for a romantic candlelight dinner, four poster carved bed, and adjustable, romantic lighting  The garden, as you enter the cabin, contains a romantic, custom-built Jacuzzi for two under a tree, which is adorned with twinkle lights. Across from the Jacuzzi, between two more trees, is the love swing for two.  The king's table in the dining room is almost seven feet long, with hand-carved chairs from Italy. Halls are adorned with pewter and weaponry. The bedroom is upstairs (this cabin is split-level, i.e. mid, lower, upper), which you access by going up the spiral staircase inside the turret. Here you'll find the oversized fireplace,the queen sized four poster carved bed with bed seat.  There are 3 stained glass, arch windows, 2 of which are over the large, double bedroom windows. In the unlikely event you run out of ideas in this cabin, we've provided a TV in the bedroom. Off the bedroom, through the 14-foot high double arches, is the balcony. From here, you can overlook your kingdom. The front deck outside leads to your own private gazebo. It is semi-enclosed, and a great place to sip your coffee in the morning, or perhaps to watch the snow fall. Microwave, compact refrigerator,  Keurig coffee maker, countertop ice-maker, and a hair dryer.  .  In short, we believe you will feel like royalty in this unique cabin, a place to forget the present, and transport yourselves back to the days of kings, queens, and dragons!  Theme appropriate costuming "For picture purposes only please".
Enchanted Forest- The hot tub and fireplace are the standout features of this double room. The spacious double room offers a coffee machine and heating, as well as a private bathroom featuring a shower. The unit offers 1 bed.
 
Captains Quarters-  Lots of oak on the floors, walls, and ceiling. Spanish tile fireplace, mural of a ship behind the Jacuzzi, treasure chest, half canopy bed, skylight. Dead men tell no tales Trapdoor. Wood burning fireplace, queen size bed, Jacuzzi for 2, TV, microwave, mini fridge,  Keurig coffee maker, countertop ice-maker, and hair dryer. Theme appropriate costuming "For picture purposes only please".
 
The Crystal Cave- Rock walls, stalagmites, crystals, this cabin will bring out the caveperson in you. Even the shower is made out of rock. Turn on the Jacuzzi, and enjoy the wood burning fireplace. The costumes in this cabin, as you may imagine, are quite primitive. Wood burning fireplace, Jacuzzi for two, microwave, compact refrigerator, TV, queen size bed, Keurig coffee maker, countertop ice-maker, and a hair dryer.
 
Indian Forest- Lots of cedar and pine, with lodgepole pine trim on the walls and ceiling. The Jacuzzi for two is surrounded by pine trees. Turn on the waterfall to fill the Jacuzzi. Murals and Indian artifacts adorn the walls. Wood burning fireplace microwave, compact refrigerator, TV, queen size bed, Keurig coffee maker, countertop ice-maker, and a hair dryer.
 
King Arthur's-  Castle stone around the Jacuzzi, half canopy bed with hand carved headboard, king and queen's costumes. Switch beside the tub controls the outside light, illuminating the beautiful stain glass accent above the tub!  Wood burning fireplace, Jacuzzi for two, microwave, compact refrigerator, TV, queen size bed, Keurig coffee maker, countertop ice-maker, and hair dryer.  Theme appropriate costuming "For picture purposes only please".

OUR NEW BOUTIQUE IS OPEN FROM 10AM-6PM DAILY! PLEASE CHECK INTO YOUR COTTAGE AT THE BOUTIQUE ON THE CORNER OF BIG BEAR BOULEVARD AND MAIN STREET. IF YOU WILL ARRIVE AFTER 6PM PLEASE LET US KNOW SO WE CAN INSTRUCT YOU ON AFTER HOURS CHECK IN PROCEDURES.
 
DEPOSIT: A non-refundable $100.00 deposit is required to reserve a cottage.  ($200 during Holiday/Peak season)

 

All reservations are subject to a non-refundable $100.00 deposit, with the balance charged 7 days prior to arrival (Reservations on holidays will be charged a $200 deposit, with the balance charged 14 days prior to arrival). Reservations canceled in the 7 days prior to check-in date will be charged for the entire reservation amount. NO-SHOWS and EARLY DEPARTURES will be charged the full reservation amount! Check in is at 4 P.M, if a customer wishes to check in early they must call ahead to ensure that the cabin is ready for them.

 

Holiday, Long Holiday Weekend, and Peak Season Cancellation Policy (Peak season = one week before Christmas Day until one week after New Year's Day - Dates may vary, call for more information): Reservations canceled in the 14 days prior to check-in dates during these periods will be charged the full reservation amount.

 

NO-SHOWS and EARLY DEPARTURES will be charged the full reservation amount!

 

All of our theme cottages are for two persons maximum occupancy only. No exceptions. No visitors are allowed at any time. No pets, no children and no smoking allowed. These cabins are designed for romantic, quiet getaways. You will be charged a minimum fine of  $50 to $250.00 for violating our policies and be evicted without refund. We are not responsible for lost or stolen personal property. You will be held responsible for any damage or theft during your occupancy of the cottage. Castle Wood Cottages rental policies and pricing are subject to change without notice.

Wonderful little stay in the Treehouse Cabin


Adorable themed cabins, close to restaurants and the lake. Really loved the cat residents too! Didn't know about Sir Gawain and Pirithos until we showed up. Sir Gawain is allowed to come in the cabin and loves to cuddle on your lap. The jacuzzi tub was so nice and relaxing. We didn't use the fireplace but I imagine during the winter it would add an even more romantic atmosphere. They also have these cute twinkling Faerie lights on at night that make it even more adorable.

I loved the themes, my goal is to experience everyone of them, it was so cozy with the fireplace and jacuzzi together in the same room....I loved that we could put on the outfits, it made the whole experience very knightly. We want to rent the treehouse next or the castle. Cheers to the owner for your creativity......you are truly very gifted. Thank you!! Already saving for our next adventure there.....we are making this place our get away from here on out.....Absolutely loved it!!!!!

Loved the themed approach to the grounds and collection of cottages, as well as the attention to detail inside our "Native/Indian" cottage. The decor, hot tub, the fireplace with wood and starter logs. Very cozy!
