The Homestead is located near Hampden, North Dakota, about 45 miles south of the Canadian border in northeast North Dakota. We are located about 45 miles south of the Canadian border, two miles west of the small town of Hampden (population: 50). We are 40 miles north of the city of Devils Lake, known for it's large lake and world-class fishing. The Homestead is located on 1500 acres in the middle of the Prairie Pothole region, meaning it is surrounded by sloughs (ponds) filled with waterfowl and wildlife in amongst the grain fields. In fact, when we say surrounded, we mean it. Four large sloughs are a stone's throw from The Homestead, and during the spring and summer, the sound of the wildlife in the evening is extremely relaxing.
