The Buttonwood Inn is situated on more than five acres of field and forest on Mt. Surprise just minutes from the villages of North Conway and Jackson. Nationally recognized for our quality of innkeeping, providing the best in service, hospitality and attention to detail, the Inn offers 10 individually decorated guestrooms with a homemade gourmet breakfast. Begin your day with coffee or tea by the fire in our living room or in your guest room. A full gourmet breakfast will be served later at your own table in our dining room.

With over fifty restaurants in the valley, dining options range from ethnic cuisine to the finest in Four Star dining. We will help find the restaurant thats perfect for you and make reservations where possible. Most are located just minutes away in North Conway Village.

We have retained the country character throughout our 1820s farmhouse with wide pine floors, period stenciling, antiques, and local artists works. In the cooler months, afternoon tea can be sipped in front of the fire in either our large, but intimate, living room or the more casual ambience of our family room (Mt. Surprise Room). The Mt. Surprise Room is equipped with a bar area, guest refrigerator, 50-inch Plasma TV/VCR/DVD, extensive movie collection, games, books, and magazines.

Two-night stays are required on weekends. A three-night reservation is required on Easter weekend, Memorial Day weekend, and Columbus Day.

One night\'s deposit or 50% of total booking (whichever is greater) is required at the time of booking. Deposits are applied to last day of reservation. Early checkouts forfeit the deposit and are responsible for all nights booked. We accept Visa, MasterCard, and American Express at the time of booking. Personal checks (received within 5 days of the reservation request date) are accepted.

Refund of deposit less a $25 cancellation fee will be credited with 14 days notice in writing via email or letter, except during Fall Foliage requiring 21 days notice and a $35 cancellation fee.

The following exception applies to Polar Express Packages: there will be no refund unless lodging and tickets can be re-sold at the original value.
Unlike some hotels, we do not \"overbook\" our rooms. We hold guest reservations for the dates our guests request. Thus we need to refuse other potential guests. As a result, if a guest leaves earlier than their reservation calls for, they will be charged for the entire reservation unless we can rent the room to another guest.

Gift Certificates are non-refundable. However, they can be applied to another date if a request to change the original booking is received within 21 days of the booking date.

The Buttonwood offers a smoke-free environment. For safety reasons and out of courtesy to other guests, smoking is not allowed in the inn. If any of the contents of a room have been contaminated or damaged due to smoking, a $250 cleaning/repair fee will be assessed.

Check in is 3:00 to 8:00 pm, unless prior arrangements are made with the innkeeper. Check out is by 11:00 am.

To receive messages or emergency calls, guests are requested to give the following number to family and friends: 603-356-3452. There are also phones, and dialing instructions, in all guest rooms and common rooms for outgoing calls.

Even though we have two friendly dogs of our own, pets are not allowed in the Inn. We are unable to accommodate guests pets at this time due to the potential health and safety concerns of other guests.
