Sleeps: 2Nestled up in the hills, a short drive from Woodville, peace and privacy prevail. Otawa Lodge is a magnificent homestead situated at the head of the Otawhao Valley in Kumeroa. It is considered one of the finest examples of Art Nouveau architecture in New Zealand. When Robert Pattison built his home in 1914 he was determined to capture the style and elegance of the Edwardian era, which has survived until the present day. Every room boasts stained, leaded glass windows, with each set being of a different design. The ceilings and walls of the sitting room and entrance hallway are adorned with intricate, flowing plasterwork designs, which are a feature unique to this house. These are set above rich rimu timber dados and panelling. All the native timber used to build the house, including totara, matai and rimu, was felled and milled on site. Once part of a larger farm, the lodge is now surrounded by seventy acres of hills and bush where historic outbuildings such as the forge and the cherry packing shed can still be visited. Del and Sue Trew have now meticulously renovated and restored the homestead and invite you to come and enjoy this unique Edwardian jewel.
Booking and Cancellation Policy:
A deposit of 30% of the accommodation cost is required when booking or credit card details to guarantee the booking.
In the event we are unable to replace a cancelled booking, the following policy will apply:
If the booking is cancelled more than 7 days prior to the stay the deposit will be retained.
If the booking is cancelled less than 7 days prior to the stay, the total cost of the stay will be charged

We accept Visa and MasterCard Credit cards, personal cheques if guaranteed by credit card details, or cash.
We are unable to accept travellers cheques or bank drafts.
