Description
House with Pavilion, 9 Bedrooms + Den, 3.5 Baths (Sleeps 20-24)
The century home contains nine bedrooms (eight with their own sink), a formal living and dining room, a breakfast room, den, kitchen, pantry, and laundry. There is plenty of everything needed for entertaining the group in residence. At the foot of the driveway is a lovely river beach, great for swimming, beach combing and clam digging. The Confederation Trail which runs between The Highlands and the beach is beautiful for walking, running or biking.
It's a five-minute drive to Brudenell Resort which includes Brudenell and Dundarave (two 18-hole championship golf courses), a nine hole executive course, as well as horseback riding, canoeing, dining facilities and a spa.
Charlottetown is just 40 minutes away.
The 1930's dance pavilion is adjacent to the house, and was built when the property became a hotel (1930-1940). Guests would travel by train, car, and horse to The Highlands and many locals attended the dances in the Pavilion.
Two room-length balconies are perched over the plank dance floor; and a ping-pong table and basketball net are available for recreation. The Pavilion also has a powder room, kitchen with sink, propane stove, fridge, and a barbecue on the veranda. It is a wonderful place to eat or relax in the many comfortable chairs and couches - enjoying the beautiful weather from the veranda or a warming fire inside.
