In Fall 2004 our two children started skiing. We decided to bring them to Big Powderhorn Resort for a ski trip in the midst of the coldest spell of the year. Two months later we visited again and it was so warm we skied in shorts. Regardless of the weather during both of our visits, we loved the area so much we decided to purchase a home here.
Almost everything in the house is new. Five months after we purchased the home it flooded. A pipe broke on the third story and flooded everything. The entire house had to be gutted down to the studs. The only thing original to the house are the two fire places.
Don't forget there is A LOT more to do in the UP that just ski. Try snowmobiling, snowshoeing, ice fishing, ice caves in Bayfield, ice skating at Big Powderhorn Resort, cross country skiing at the 26km Wolverine Nordic trail, or in the Summer how about ATV riding, hiking, swimming in waterfalls, berry picking in Bayfield. Come to the UP and stay at Big Burn - you will not be disappointed!
