This cozy little house was completed in October 2008 in the scenic farming community of Rocky River in Van Buren County. Built primarily for our use, it is also available as a rental. It is situated on 5.21 acres and has 640 square feet of living space, 384 square feet of porches, a 64 square feet storage room, and a patio that has 162 square feet. Come sit a spell in the swing or one of the rockers on the back porch that overlooks the clean, spring-fed river. There are 1366.72 feet of river frontage on the property. You won’t be able to resist taking a walk alongside the river or down the over 800 feet of driveway that runs parallel to the river.
The house itself has one bedroom with a queen size bed and window with a view of the river. There is one bath with a tub/shower combo. Bed linens are provided as well as towels and wash cloths. Towels for any river activity are NOT provided. You will need to bring your own toiletries. There is a sofa in the living area that includes two recliners. A TV with Dish service and DVD player are also in that area. The kitchen is stocked with basic cooking and serving supplies. A phone is not provided. Cell phone service is possible, but not optimal. A heating / air conditioning unit is located in the living area. Turn on the heat and cuddle up in the winter months, or open the windows in mild weather and let the refreshing breeze flow through the house. A charcoal grill is on site, but you’ll need to bring your own charcoal. Firewood is available for campfires, but if you plan to build one, advanced approval is required.
