Craig and Nancy Johnson have dreamed of owning their own Bed and Breakfast, but life’s demands pulled them in a different direction. In August of 2007, they stumbled upon this house and instantly they fell in love with it. Although it’s not a B&B, they’re thrilled to share it with the visiting families and groups who visit Newport, a place they truly love. One day the Johnsons hope to retire here. In the meantime, they love knowing that others are enjoying it and taking care of it as much as they do.

The name Three Beaches Cottage came naturally to the Johnsons.  Besides its proximity to Newport and Middletown’s three beautiful beaches, the house has a guest suite, a two bedroom, and three bedroom apartment (also, it became very laborious to refer to them as the one bedroom suite, the two bedroom apartment, and the three bedroom apartment).

Three Beaches Cottage is a 6 bedroom seaside home with a unique layout that sleeps a maximum of 15 people. Below is a description of the three unique retreats and a flow of the home:

1st Beach is a large one bedroom apartment tucked directly behind 3rd beach. Built in 2000, 1st Beach has a full bathroom and patio off the adorable eat-in kitchen. The separate bedroom has a new memory foam queen bed. Just off the large cathedral-ceiling family room is a reading nook with a day bed and trundle, offering additional sleeping space for two. The stair case off the reading nook takes you upstairs to the attached 2 bedroom apartment a.k.a. 2nd Beach.

2nd Beach is a large, spacious apartment with water views and open floor plan where families congregate for meals and entertaining (portable banquet table is available for large dinner groups). Also added on in 2000, 2nd beach offers 2 bedrooms: a king size bedroom and a guest room with three twin beds (a bunk bed and separate twin bed—with available bed rail). The bathroom features a Jacuzzi tub and spa jetted shower. The deck off the dining area leads to the pool.

3rd Beach is the three bedroom first floor apartment: Bedroom 1 King Master bedroom with attached 1/2 bath; Bedroom 2 new memory foam Queen bed; Bedroom 3 new memory foam Queen bed. This apartment is newly painted and updated including all hardwood floors and granite eat-in kitchen with breakfast bar, and updated full bathroom. The sunny living room is comfortable and cozy and steps to the front lawn.
