Located on the hillside of Chocolate Hole, just 3 minutes from Cruz Bay, Meritage Great House offers spectacular views of the Caribbean and Hart Bay. From the decks you can see the islands of St. Croix and St. Thomas in the distance. Relax poolside and listen to the surf roll in from Hart Bay Beach which is just a 10 minute walk down from the house. Lay in the hammock sipping your favorite cocktail while you watch a dramatic Caribbean sunset! Maybe snorkeling the area reefs and scuba diving is how you'll decide to pass the day.
In the evenings you can enjoy a meal at one of the wonderful restaurants and then come home and soak in the pool. How could life be any better? Each air-conditioned bedroom has new hand-carved teak furniture, a private bath, and it's own outdoor sitting area.

We stayed at the Meritage Great house for 8 days and had a wonderful time. We are in love with St. John. Every morning we cooked breakfast and then set out for the beach. We would either go out for dinner or grill out on the deck. The view from the house is beautiful! We found the house to be very cozy and comfortable and took full advantage of the pool and hot tub. The owners were very nice and we would recommend this place to friends. We might try to come back next summer with friends.
1st vacation to the Caribbean. Meritage Great House was perfect for my family of 6. Each of the 4 air-conditioned bedrooms have their own bathrooms. My 2 daughters (17 & 18) each had their own bedroom while my 2 boys (12 & 15) shared a room (the room was set up with two twin beds). My wife and I in the other. The house would be great for 4 couples as well. Everyone has their own private space or congregate on the pool level or kitchen/living/dining room level. Enjoying a cup of coffee on the deck overlooking Hart Bay was a great way to begin each day. Great pool & hot tub with awesome views with many iguanas & hermit crabs very close by. House is close to town, but isolated enough to escape to quietly enjoy each other. Sinbad & Chris are awesome. We\'ll be back. -The Gallaghers from NY\'s Mid-Hudson Valley.
We had a wonderful time in St. John and the Meritage House only added to the great experience. The house is very well equipped with everything that you need for the ultimate island getaway. The porches and pool were perfect spots to enjoy the sunset in the evening after long days on the beach swimming and snorkeling. The house was perfectly set up with four master bedrooms and private baths with outdoor space so that everyone had their own space! Thank you Chris and Sinbad for a great vacation!
