Our North Pole Cabin Retreat is a great place to come for a day, a week, or a month or more. A person can experience life in Alaska in comfort. Our log cabin was built in 2002 and has had many guests over the years. We provide housing year round, and winter or summer the cabin is warm, dry, and safe. Running water is a must, as are clean comfortable beds. The cabin has two queen beds, kitchenette, full private bath, BBQ and picnic area outside. Parking is nearby. We are only 2 miles from grocery, dentist, medical, gas stations, gift shops, dining establishments, churches and bars. Although you are close to the comforts of everyday living, it will seem as if you are a long way out in the woods. We are located in a private, wooded property with a waterway flowing by. In summer there are many nesting ducks. There are many wild flowers growing all around, as well as hanging baskets of flowers we plant for your enjoyment.

I stayed here as a solo traveler for 8 nights in November 2016. I was visiting my newborn grandson who lives in North Pole and I wanted to be close by, but give the new parents a little space, too! This place fit the bill. Nancy\'s directions were great and the house really was easy to find. It was toasty inside and the seemingly small heater is more than adequate to keep the cabin nice and warm (although I did turn the temp down while I was out). Even in the -10F night, it was cozy inside at 66 without it running all night long! Anything I could need was here, although I did no cooking other than reheating some leftovers. Nancy was right next door if I needed anything else, although I really didn\'t! She was very easy to communicate with and extremely attentive. With careful packing, I was able to pack for a 10 day trip (airport hotels the night before flights) with just a carryon. No need for any extra shoes or hiking boots here - winter boots is all I wore for 10 days! I did not realize there was no \"live\" TV here at the cabin, but I never watch it anyway so that was no trouble for me. There are a few dvds here. I think a Roku or one of those streaming boxes with Netflix could be a good idea, but again this was great for me to not have the tv on for a whole week! Sad to be packing up my bags today but next visit to see my grandson, I will definitely plan around when Nancy has openings for this cabin!
We had a great time in the Fairbanks area for 3 nights. Nancy was very accommodating and helpful. My husband and I only used the Duplex cabin to sleep, we were always on the go. I do think the photos need to be updated.
enjoyed our stay.Nancy was a very gracious host and the cabin was great would stay there again
The rooms were nice and comfortable. The host was very kind. We had a great experience there.
My husband and I traveled from Texas to Fairbanks/North Pole to celebrate 30 years of wedded bliss and for a chance to see the aurora. North Pole Nancy and our stay at this amazing little piece of paradise made our trip an amazing success! The care, attention and tips we received from Nancy had a direct impact on our Alaska experience....and it was all absolutely wonderful!!! I hope to share our experiences with everyone we know and we will both be praising the kind and caring Alaska hospitality we received from Nancy! From the yummy homemade raspberry jam to the CRITICAL advice on travel and attractions in the area, Nancy was the crucial part of our experience that made our trip to Alaska a life-changing event! Thank you so very much Nancy!! We fell in love with Fairbanks, with Alaska, and look forward with great excitement to our next journey....North....to ALASKA!!
