Description
Stone house with private pool, patio, sleeps 10 in 6 bedrooms. Set in two acres, on top of a hill, it enjoys a fabulous 270 degree panorama and views to the cliffs of the Dordogne. The house is on the edge of Lostanges - a village between Brive and Beaulieu sur Dordogne. Three double bedrooms, one twin and two single bedrooms, two shower rooms, dishwasher, washer, dryer. More details. There is one large double room (see photos), one other double room and a room with a double sofa bed. There is a downstairs room with two single beds. There are two single bedrooms - with room to bed down on an air mattress if you need more room. There are two shower rooms. There is a living room and a kitchen. In summer much activity occurs on the outside, shaded, terrace which has great views (see photos). The pool is about 6 by 3.5 metres in length. There is carpet upstairs and tiles downstairs. The house has central heating - but this will not be required for typical rentals. We use the house ourselves and have three boys - so it is not completely pristine! We trust you will find it clean and comfortable - but it is not a Four Seasons hotel! We have a dishwasher, washer, dryer, and the house is generally fully kitted out with the necessaries and various games and toys. We own the land around the house which is grazed by sheep periodically to keep the grass down. You are free to roam around. We have a small garden around the pool with a supply of herbs. Our (English) neighbor takes care of the property and is extremely capable, being a builder and farmer who also rents his own properties - so any issue can normally be dealt with quickly. On request they may be able to sell you home grown produce at very reasonable rates. The location is between Brive and Beaulieu, up in the hills but only 20 minutes from the Dordogne river. Some typical sites nearby are Collanges la Rouge, Curemont, Beaulieu sur Dordogne and the river itself. Within an hour you can find Turenne, Rocamadur, the Gouffre de Padirac, Chateau de Castlenaud, Soulliac and numerous pretty villages and caves. A little further afield you can get to Lascaux, Sarlat and the heart of the Dordogne (we are to the East). Local activities include tennis, kayaking, golf, horse riding. There is lots of swimming, walking and bird watching. We can arrange for sheet and towel hire if required. We can provide some reviews of previous visitors if required (this is our first year on this site). Typical comments are that the views are magnificent and it is an extremely relaxing location, with plenty to do. The house is comfortable and the kind of place a family can hang out and relax. The pool is a great asset during the summer. We seem to have very happy customers in general.
