This fabulous 3 bedroom, 3 bathroom home is in the walking district and only 1 ½ short blocks from the beach (no climbing up hills or over RR tracks) Exquisitely decorated with fine art and designer furnishings. Entertain or sunbathe in the large rooftop patio and enjoy a glass of wine while watching hot air balloons and the sun set over the blue Pacific ocean. After just a few hours here, you’ll be immersed in the laid-back lifestyle of a friendly Southern California beach community.
 
Our place is attractive and comfortable for both adults and children with a large master suite with Cal King bed, sitting area, large walk-in closet, expansive double bath, and private patio. The second bedroom has a queen bed, walk-in closet, private deck and adjacent full bath, plus a computer desk with high speed wireless network. The third bedroom has two large twin beds with memory foam that convert to a king if desired. Each bedroom has HDTV
 
The living room has a 55” 4K Ultra HDTV with home theater sound system. The bedrooms each have 32” LED HDTV. Each room has an overhead remote fan and additional high-quality inflatable twin beds are available.
 
Feel the invigorating Ocean breeze when you go for an early morning walk on the beach and catch a glimpse of the pelicans, dolphins, and numerous sea birds. Of course there are surfers and even whales -in season. Located on a quiet street in the “walking district”, our beach house backs up to beautiful Glen Park.
 
With the playground for the kids and picnic tables for all, you can play a game of tennis, basketball, or volleyball or relax on the lawn and read a book. Within the “walking district” you’ll find all the amenities and services you’ll want including fine and casual dining, a gourmet food market (Seaside Market), Patagonia surf clothing, Starbucks coffee, the library, post office, gym, cleaners, and surf shops.
 
Have breakfast at the local surfers café Pipes, lunch at the healthy fare - Ki’s, watch the big game at the 101 sports bar - and dinner at one of the beach front restaurants such as the Chart House, Las Olas, and Pacific grill -, all within short walking distance.
 
Cardiff-by-the-Sea is a charming seaside village with wonderful unique beaches for walking, bird watching, surfing, boogie boarding and swimming. The coastal climate is amazingly comfortable and moderate all year round. The sunsets are spectacular.
 
Enjoy all the nearby attractions -- The Flower Fields at Carlsbad Ranch, Legoland, Disneyland to the north, La Costa Spa, the high style of Cedros Design District and Del Mar - home of the Del Mar racetrack and fairgrounds. Hike in the cliffs at Torrey Pines or play a round of golf at the famous Torrey Pines Golf Resort - site of the 2008 US Open. Within a short ride there are endless (90) beautiful golf courses to choose from with the perfect weather and views typical of north county San Diego.
 
San Diego is less then 30 minutes away. Be sure to visit Sea World and the world famous San Diego Zoo and Safari Park, wander through the museums and gardens of Balboa Park, the timeless settlement at Old Town. Dine in the romantic evening at the Gas Lamp quarter. There is whale watching, hang gliding, dinners cruises, tours of the USS Midway and the Star of India sailing ship, even a visit to Point Loma and the famous Del Hotel on Coronado Island. As a fun alternative, take the Coaster train down to San Diego and Old Town. You can even take your bike with you on board.

The property was just as described and the owner was wonderful to work with.


We could not have been happier with our stay at Don\'s rental in Cardiff by the Sea. There were no surprises. Everything was exactly as described. It was perfect for 5 people with 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. We felt like we were completely private when we went to bed at night and it really refreshed us for spending 2 full weeks together! The sunsets were so beautiful. And I liked the fact that Cardiff was a much slower pace than the surrounding towns. We walked to the beach and enjoyed the restaurants in town and surrounding areas. We had a meal by the ocean in DelMar at The Poseidon and it was very good. We got to see our first sunset there. Carlsbad was much more crowded than I thought it would be. It made me appreciate the slower pace of Cardiff. We played games every night at the dining room table and had some great bonding family times there with 2 family members who came to visit. The table was perfect for 7 -8 people to play games. One thing I was looking for was parking for 3 vehicles, with family living in the area and wanting to visit. There were 2 spaces in and out of garage in area and 1 space in front which managed to work the times we needed it. Hard to find places with that many spaces in San Diego area. The only thing that we forgot and wasn\'t at the house was a hair dryer, but we just went air dry!

Great place! Great location!


Had a wonderful vacation at Cardiff-by-the-Sea. The house was perfect for our family of four adults...well maintained, lots of space, every amenity we needed. Plus, the hosts were so gracious and easy to work with from start to finish. You couldn\'t ask for more in terms of location if you like the beach and short walks to great restaurants and shops. We also took a day trip by car to Joshua Tree National Park, which we\'d highly recommend. We definitely hope to return!

Everything is as advertised, great host, convenient location, beautiful area.


We were on a multi-generation vacation with the grandparents and our young kids. The room setup is perfect for us. The breeze from the ocean is the best thing, along with the roof deck and the ocean-facing balcony. Its conveniently located, about 30 mins to downtown, safari zoo, 10 mins to legoland. We got Go San Diego cards and used the house as our base camp and did Day trips to the nearby destinations. We also spent some time on the local beach. There\'s so much to do that we were never out of options. San Diego is a beautiful place, no wonder everyone wants to live there. We really had a great time and would highly recommend the house.

Superb family accomodation in ideal Southern California beach town. Perfect 2 week holiday for us.


We couldn\'t have been happier with this rental. We are a family of four (mum, dad, teenagers, 18 and 14) from UK so invested a lot in the airfares. We are very glad we did! We wanted a SoCal vacation, we wanted San Diego area rather than LA and we thought North County SD would be perfect. It was. The location is great. Cardiff has beach-front chic for those evenings dining, wining and watching the sun set over the pacific. It also has the best \'one block back\' from the beach restaurants, cardiff market (it\'s like Grand Central, NY food market in beachtown, CA). We had a couple of day trips up to LA, (we have teenagers so Beverly, Burbank, Faifax), we did Balboa Park, SD Zoo, USS Midway. Palm Prings cable car. Kayak\'d La Jolla. The list goes on! Don (owner) is a perfect gentleman and very effective. We couldn\'t have been happier with the engagement and interacrion we had with him. Highly recommend this rental.
