The Island House is located in a small gated community at the very end of quaint Perkins Cove. Originally built in 1850, this 5bdrm, 5bath, historic property is surrounded by award winning gardens, and was totally rebuilt in 2003 to include modern luxuries and amenities and has hardwood floor throughout. Every room in the house has picturesque ocean views, as well as garden and harbor views!
 
The house welcomes guests in a generous foyer that leads to the spacious (14x37) living room, surrounded by magnificent windows and farmers’ porches that fill it with light. The cottage style furniture is placed around the remote controlled gas-fired fireplace and comfortably seats ten people.
 
Next to the living room is the dining/kitchen area, also surrounded by windows and porches (with direct access to the hot tub), which encompasses a space of 14 feet by 44 feet. The dining room table is prepared for big or small groups and expands from six to twelve people.
 
Perkins Cove: The Island House is adjacent to Perkins Cove boutique shopping, art galleries and local cuisine restaurants, and to the Marginal Way which borders the ocean and takes you to Ogunquit Town Beach. More restaurants and shopping within walking distance. Easy drive to Outlet shopping in Kittery, ME! Also a short walk across the drawbridge to the Ogunquit Art Museum, a short ride to The Ogunquit Theatre.
 
Beach and Water Activities: –Walk or take the trolley to the Ogunquit Beach! Kayaking - nearby. Surfing - available. Fishing- Charters Available. Sailing - Charters Available.
 
At The House: Relaxing-Sitting on the porch with a book or a glass of wine, looking out at the ocean and the magnificent sunsets, while listening to the sound waves. Sleeping-the intensity of the Ocean, waves crashing, releasing an abundance of pure clean air- induces the best sleep your can ever imagine. Cooking and entertaining: enjoy the gourmet kitchen or the large Wolf gas grill to make fantastic meals for your family and friends. Lobsters available at the local pier. Enjoy your stay, rest and relax!!

Wonderful Fall Getaway


We had a wonderful week at The Island House. The home is warm and welcoming from the moment you step in the front door. It is well appointed and perfect for a large family or group of friends. The living room was a wonderful respite, and with the cozy fireplace was the perfect place to end your day. It was especially nice to be able to enjoy the sunrise, with several decks to choose from. Bedrooms are well appointed and comfortable, kitchen is well appointed, and the dining room is a great place to enjoy breakfast and gather for dinner. The listing was quite accurate and the home is very well maintained. The entire process, from beginning to end was a pleasure and Ralph was a delight to speak to. I would highly recommend this property for a week away. The home is within walking distance to many restaurants and shop, but is located at the quiet end of Perkins Cove. I look forward to visiting again in the future.

Wonderful Thanksgiving Getaway!


The Island House was a great venue for our family\'s Thanksgiving celebration! The kitchen was well equiped for preparing Thanksgiving dinner for 12 people and the view from the property was well worth it. Ralph was a kind host and made sure all our needs were attended to before we arrived. I would highly recommend this property if you are looking for a relaxing family gathering!

I wish I could give this 100 stars


We hosted our wedding here and I can\'t get over how amazing it was. We booked it on a snowy day in March and of course I wanted to see the house before renting. Ralph, the owner asked the color of our wedding and would plant flowers to match. I can\'t put into words how amazing the week was. The view from the master bedroom waterfront beautiful. There is nothing more peaceful then sitting in the back yard and listening to the fishing boats come in and out. Great host and great place.

Dream Family Vacation!


My parents wanted to take our entire family on a vacation in celebration of their 50th wedding anniversary, and they chose Maine...one of their favorite spots which nine of us had ever visited. 14 of us ranging in age from 1 - 70 stayed in this lovely home situated right at the end of Perkins Cove. Perfect location, beautiful house, nearby activities and restaurants. We lived walking to Breaking New Grounds for coffee and pastries, as well as wondering a little further down the road to enjoy a full breakfast at Cove Cafe. We enjoyed sailing with SilverLinings right out of Perkins Cove. Ralph was great to work with before, during, and after our visit. He even rearranged the beds to best fit our family\'s needs.
