Description

Located between Middleburg and Upperville, White Oak is a lovely stone house with dramatic views of the Blue Ridge Mountains. Being in the middle of a farm, it is surrounded by working farms with herds of cattle and horses.
 
A mile from the Piedmont Kennels, White Oak is situated in the heart of the Virginia hunt country with easy access to a number of well known packs.
 
Almost every type of horse activity is nearby - foxhunting, polo, driving, showing, racing, eventing - it's all here.
 
Of growing interest is the well established vineyards in Northern Virginia. A number of these vineyards are open to the public year round.
 
The kitchen is large and well equipped, and the laundry room has everything one would expect. The formal dining room has two dining room tables with total seating for 12.
 
Pots and pans, cutlery, china, flatware, stemware, etc. - all that one might require is in the kitchen. There is a mudroom and a full bath just off the kitchen.
 
The living room is quite large and can accommodate a large gathering. There is a fireplace and through large windows on the west wall there are remarkable views of the mountains. The paneled den has a fully equipped bar, a fireplace, and more views of the mountains. There is a half bath next to the den.
 
There is a ground floor bedroom with 2 twin beds with a full bath.
 
Off the den is a covered porch with comfortable seating. And close in is a swimming pool and terrace.
 
Upstairs there are four bedrooms and three full baths. The master (queen size ) bedroom has a fireplace and an en suite bathroom with a dressing room and closets. Two bedrooms ,each with 2 twin beds share one full bath and the remaining Queen size bedroom has a full bath.
 
The five bedrooms are comfortably furnished, and all the beds have new mattresses. All the bed linens and bath towels are new and of high quality. Every bedroom has spacious closeting.
 
Nearby is the attractive town of Middleburg with restaurants and shops.
 
Marshall and The Plains are just a bit further away, but each has interesting restaurants and shops.
 
There is much Civil War History in the area. White Oak, itself, is on the east end of a major engagement. Mosby was active on both sides of the mountain.
