Description

Quaint renovated bungalow located just one and a half blocks from the campus of Missouri State University. Only minutes from JQH arena, Springfield Cardinals Baseball and downtown Springfield, which features a variety of restaurants and entertainment. Within two miles of Mercy Hospital and three miles from Bass Pro.
 
Originally built in 1915, it has two bedrooms, one bath with a comfortable living area. Larger dining area with seating for six. Claw foot tub with shower, Queen Bed in Master, trundled twin beds in second bedroom.
 
All old homes are quirky, and remind us that life was much different 100 years ago. Bedrooms are small and living is close. Doors creek and don't always shut; everything has been painted four or five times. But that's what gives these homes their charm. Although the walls are old, everything else is nearly new. Sleeps 4 in beds. There is a couch in the living area, but it does not fold out, (if needed, someone could sleep on it). Gas stove and small refrigerator with breakfast nook for two. Large fenced backyard with plenty of space to play and a deck with a fire pit for nice evenings outside. We have a couple of bikes available for use. Hi-speed Internet (3mb^/3mb). 42 inch smart TV over gas fireplace offers access to Netflix and the internet. Gas fireplace is fickle, so it's best not to count on it.
 
Hardware floors throughout, lots of natural lighting. A very comfortable place to relax and unwind, or enjoy watching cars pass by while on the front porch swing.
 
This is an ideal place for a small young family of four. If you need space for more than five, please search VRBO for something larger. It costs a bit more than other rentals because we use the space as our own get-away, and we are looking for renters who are more interested in quality than the lowest price. At this time the only discount we offer is reflected in the weekly rate. We also have a strict no pet policy and a strict no smoking policy (no smoking in the house or outside--if you are or someone in your party smokes, we kindly ask you to make other arrangements for lodging. If you have a service animal, please contact us to see if our home is suitable for your needs). Also, as a vacation rental, we do not offer extended stays--nothing longer than 10 days.

We purchased this home for our personal use when we stay in Springfield, but realized that we didn't use it as much as we thought we would. We have several rentals, but this is our first try at Vacation Home renting. Over the last 10 years, we have used VRBO for our personal vacations, and enjoy staying in a nice home rather than a carbon-copied hotel room. We wanted to see if being a VRBO owner would be as nice as being a VRBO user.Thomas & Sarah Jones purchased this Bungalow in 2015

Charming house with a great location!

Charming and well maintained


We had a wonderful week in Springfield, and this cute bungalow was a nice place to rest at the end of the day. It has all the necessities and a lot of extras! I enjoyed the large kitchen, dining room, and washer/dryer! It is centrally located and has a lovely backyard with fire pit.

Wonderful, charming, and clean!


My husband, daughter and I stayed here during a college visit to Drury. The location was perfect - close to downtown but not in downtown. We had one question regarding the bungalow and it was answered immediately. Springfield is a lovely town with lots of interesting stores and restaurants. I would highly recommend this as an affordable, and comfy cozy option. Beats a hotel any day!

Thanksgiving with family


Loved the house! Exceptionally clean and felt like home. Very comfortable. Loved being able to ride bikes! Great porch swing and lights. Beautiful backyard. Very quiet neighborhood. Washer and dryer are awesome features although we didn\'t use them. Would definitely stay again. In fact, can\'t wait to return to visit family Will definitely stay here many times!
