Description

Plage Rose is an exceptional beachfront estate property in the prime location of Double Bay. It’s grand entrance was featured in "The 700 experiences" (a blog about the 700 islands in the Bahamas) as one of the most prestigious entrances of the Bahamas. This 9 acre property is surrounded by lush tropical vegetation with numerous mature palms, trees, flowering bushes and shrubs.
 
Plage Rose fronts on 725 feet of incredible pink sand beach which is only steps away from both the main Villa and the guest cottage.
 
The main Villa is spacious and airy and allows the best of both indoor and outdoor living to merge as one. It offers breathtaking views of both the Atlantic Ocean and the lake and is ideally positioned to showcase sunrise and sunset views.
 
We’ll begin our tour with the spectacular gourmet island kitchen. Its elegant decor features Italian furniture, and it is fully equipped with stainless steel appliances including two wall ovens, dishwasher, microwave, trash compactor, wine cooler, drop-in glass-top range, and two refrigerators. Just off the kitchen is a large and fully equipped laundry room with washer and dryer. Sliding glass doors from the kitchen lead to an outdoor patio. Side windows offer a view of the vegetable garden with all kinds of fresh herbs and vegetables that are at your disposal to create unforgettable meals.
 
Beside the kitchen is the formal dining room furnished with antique furniture and wall lights that offer just the right ambiance for intimate dinners as well as for family gatherings. Original Bahamian paintings complete the decor. A powder room is conveniently located between the dining room and the great room.
 
Beside the dining room is the great room with casually elegant decor that welcomes comfortable island living and it offers breathtaking views of the Atlantic on one side and the lake on the other. Two over-sized sofas and four island style chairs as well as a big screen TV provide a perfect spot for everyone to enjoy and relax. A bar with sink is conveniently located beside the great room. Two sets of sliding glass doors welcome you to the two great patios on each side of the house for outdoor living.
 
Beyond the great room is the guest bedroom, which features a beautiful ocean view, private patio and a brand new outdoor shower. It is furnished with a queen bed. Continue down the hall to enter the spacious master bedroom with a king bed and a walk-in closet with safe. An en-suite bathroom and shower room offers enough space for two people to shower at a time. A door from the shower room opens to the outside, a convenient way out to the beach or to the guest house. Sliding glass doors from both the guest bedroom and the master bedroom lead to private patios where you can relax and enjoy beautiful ocean views.
 
Located about 100 feet from the Main Villa is a separate 2 bedroom guest cottage with a central kitchenette area. Each bedroom has twin beds which can be converted to kings, and an en suite bathroom, shower & closet with safe. The guest cottage offers breathtaking views of the ocean, as it is also located directly on the beach. Each bedroom has a private patio.
Our stunning pink sand beach stretches for miles and miles on the Atlantic Ocean. It is renowned as one of the finest beaches on Eleuthera and is an idyllic place for swimming, snorkeling, walking or just plain relaxing with a book and a cool drink... All of this, right at your doorstep!
 
Plage Rose is fully equipped to make your stay as comfortable and memorable as possible. Amenities include air conditioning throughout , washer and dryer, WIFI, landline phone, satellite TV, beach chairs, outdoor shower, 3 sets of snorkel gear and more!

Family Time


Plage Rose is a beautiful home and cottage. It was the perfect place to stay with 2 grown children and their boyfriend/girlfriend. We stayed in the main house master bedroom and they each had a bed and bath in the cottage. This gave everyone just enough privacy to enjoy being together. We had a great week!

Exceeded all expectations!


Having a place exceed expectations is the exception to the rule. Plage Rose is one such exception. It’s comfortable, impressively supplied, meticulously clean, and has a balance of privacy and social areas. The main house has a master bedroom with ensuite. A second bedroom shares a smaller bathroom with the main house. The guest house has 2 bedrooms with ensuites All bedrooms are spacious, clean and comfortable. The main house kitchen has a sitting area that seats 5. A more formal dining room is adjacent. The kitchen is surprisingly well-stocked. The main living room area has comfortable couches and a large TV. The house has air conditioning, ceiling fans, and (almost more importantly) screens for windows and patio doors. Plage Rose, is on Double Bay (Atlantic) where the sea tends to be rougher, but you’re only a 12-minute drive (a rough road in) to Ten Bay, one of the island’s many stunning Caribbean beaches. You’re close to Governor’s Harbour, the hub of the island. Even closer is Island Farms, for produce. Our preference for fresh produce is Phil’s, about a mile north of Rainbow inn (best restaurant on the island for our group). 15-minutes south of the house is a new grocery store, Cost-Cutter, which is convenient and well-stocked (by island standards). Further south you’ll find the largest grocery store on the island, in Rock Sound. A few final notes (I could go on and on!): Violet, who looks after the house, and leaves the place spotless is a joy! This was our 4th visit to the island and Matt Simon from Eleuthera Vacation Rentals was a real lifesaver for a few major reasons on this trip that had nothing to do with Plage Rose. He really came through for us and reinforced why it’s essential to go with an established and trustworthy rental agency.
