Cottage right on the water looking out over the sound is located between Smyrna and Marshallberg which is just  minutes to Harker's Island. The cottage is set in a very private location and is close to several places of interest to explore including Atlantic Beach and other beaches along Emerald Isle, the outer bank islands (Cape lookout and Core Banks), the town of Beaufort and Morehead City, Cedar Island Ferries (to visit Okracoke) or other Ferries on Harkers Island to visit the outerbank islands.

Listen to the water lap gently up to the edge of the property. From the screened in porch with ceiling fans sit back and enjoy the view.  Everything you need is here. Kitchen is equipped with cooking pots/pans and plates/utensils, coffee maker, microwave, fridge/stove, etc. 
Living room and both bedrooms have TV/DVD players. Satellite TV, washer/dryer, linens, towels, beach chairs, kayaks and paddles, gas grill and Central Air are all provided. The porch view is very scenic. Great place to eat, read, relax.  The interior of the house is very quaint and everything is at your fingertips

Two kayaks are available for use for guests and can be put into the water right in front of the house. Clamming, or catching blue crab with baited crabpots is a favorite activity that can be enjoyed in front of the house.

Water Activities: Boaters are welcome and the property has available space for boat parking. Free public ramps are available within very close proximity (3 miles) to the cottage. For those without a boat, local ferry operators will wisk you away to the outerbanks for the day, which are islands that have no road access and are pristine.  Fishing in this area is superb with flounder, snapper, drum to name a few.

What to do in Harkers Island / Beaufort / Morehead Cities? Harker's Island has two museums, beautiful walking trails and water!! Beaufort is renowned for antiquing, excellent restaurants, historical sites, boat tours, kayaking tours and the like. Morehead has restaurants, shopping, deep sea boats. The NC Aquarium is near Atlantic Beach. Atlantic Beach is a great place to spend a day swimming, playing in the sand, restaurants within walking distance.

The location is extremely relaxing and private and visitors are instantly drawn into a mode of fun and relaxation that only the sound of the water can create.  Easy to get to touristy areas and then retreat to the private setting of the cottage

Mother's Day Get Away


This was a perfect Mother\'s Day getaway location! This home is clean, quiet, cozy and has all the amenities needed. The screen porch is heavenly to enjoy a morning cup of coffee to a late evening listening to the crickets and looking at the stars. Very conveniently located to Harker\'s Island and Beaufort, we ate lunch with the locals, rode the ferry to Shackleford Island and enjoyed the park. It was a wonderful weekend and this is a beautiful place to stay!

Serene, with wonderful piezza (screen porch)


Very quite, cute and clean. Great breezes and wonderful sun and moon rises. Great place to decompress from stress and your day to day. Good place to start from to discover the \"Down East\" charm of NC. Quaint small towns, wonderful people, and a place to come back to that reflects \"Down East\" local living.

Beautiful water views from the lovely porch


This is a lovely gem with gorgeous water views. We enjoyed the porch which was screened in and very nice. The house is cozy and has everything you need. It is conveniently located to the beach islands and Beaufort for shopping and enjoying the town. The local food was terrific, especially Captain\'s Choice on Harker\'s Island. We loved it here and we would definitely come back to this house again. Thank you for a wonderful vacation we will always remember.

Beautiful location! The cottage was very cozy, and clean. I wish the docks were usable for fishing, but besides that had a wonderful stay. Definitely will be back!

Quiet Place at the Beach


My husband and I spent our 10 year anniversary here last week and we LOVED it! We are so glad that we found this place. The kayaks were fun and the porch was much used. The mosquitoes are bad, but no worries with the screened in porch overlooking the water. The weather was awesome for us to enjoy ferry rides, driving around to see everything, shopping at the lovely local shops, and going to Beaufort and Harkers Island to eat. If you are looking for a very, very quiet place, then you have found it. Great place to enjoy the beauty of the beach and be able to afford to do other things. The only things that I would wish for would be a washer and dryer and Wi-Fi. We look forward to visiting again!

Peaceful Getaway


We had an enjoyable, very affordable stay at this cozy home. The views were amazing! We took the ferry from Harkers Island (which is only 10 mins away), to Shackleford Banks. It was absolutely amazing!! My family and I will definitely be back to visit next year.
