Inside Plaza de la Independencia. Only 150 feet to Parque del Retiro´s main entrance. The so called “Golden Mile”, is at the beginning of Serrano Street where the most fashionable and elegant shops in Madrid are concentrated, right next to the Plaza. Short walking distance to El Prado, Reina Sofia and Thyssen museums, Cibeles, Puerta del Sol, Plaza Mayor, Huertas, Malasaña, Chueca……all these within a mile walk. No need for car or public transportation. It’s located right in the heart of the city, very close to all major attractions and right between the most exclusive neighborhoods in Madrid City: Salamanca and Jeronimos. They both are clean, safe and quiet at night. Nightlife is just crossing Castellana Street. The area is lively during the day as there are many restaurants, cafés, terraces, bars and shops nearby.
 
This architecturally protected building is from 1880. It’s quite a restored antique under its original façade.
 
Has five big double bedrooms. Two include balconies which overview Plaza de la Independencia. While four of them include en-suite bathrooms, there´s a fifth complete bathroom that is used as a large guest WC too. There are also two more balconies to the Plaza at the main living room.
 
Kitchen and dining-room are 377 and 280 square feet respectively. They are fully equipped. The living room can comfortably accommodate twelve people. The kitchen has room for eight more, which makes it ideal for children or short meals.
 
All rooms have AC, even some bathrooms. It’s recently equipped and reformed - Feb 2013-to meet the highest comfort standards while respecting all the characters of a XIX century property. Keeps high ceilings, classic ceiling molding, big doors and windows, old wooden floors, hydraulic tile and of course, extensive open areas. Most ceilings are almost 13 feet tall.
 
The rest of the rooms are enormous too; living rooms, bedrooms and bathrooms as well. Kitchen and bathrooms are brand new, custom built, king sized and finished with continuous polished micro-cement.
 
The flat is directly managed by the owner to ensure quality of service and to offer a competitive price for probably the best vacation flat in the city.
 
Late check out and early check in are available free when possible. If not they need to be set at 12am and 4pm respectively
 
Please note views from the balconies can change during the year because the trees at the Plaza grow their leaves out. It turns into a green view of London Plane leaves which helps keeping the flat cooler in the summer.

HUGE, FABULOUS, & THE BEST LOCATION IMAGINABLE!


This place is so big, you need a map! So much luxurious space to spread out. (We were only 4 people.) Super clean and comfortable. Fernando, the host/owner, could not have been nicer or more accommodating. We were arriving from Seville by car after midnight. Not only was he happy to wait up for us, but he helped us up with a mountain of suitcases (there\'s a great antique elevator) and made sure we had everything we needed. He worked really hard to be sure we were satisfied. As far as the location, it could not possibly be any better. The balconies look out directly onto Plaza de la Independencia. Retiro Park is across the street and El Prado Museum is a few blocks away. Also especially appreciated was the pocket wifi that comes with the apartment. There\'s a great French bistro/bakery right downstairs and also a newsstand selling super-cool, unusual magazines. A perfect place to people watch while enjoying a coffee and a magazine. When I go back to Madrid there is NO DOUBT I would book this apartment again. Thanks, Fernando, for a wonderful stay.

A Wonderful Stay


This property is ideally located with everything within an easy walk. A lot of nice restaurants, a bakery downstairs and an Irish pub around the corner. Fernando met us for an early arrival and explained all, very nice and accommodating. We will be staying again!! We were only a group of three and had so much space in the extremely large apartment. WiFi was fast with no problems. We even did laundry and everything was provided. Thank you Fernando for a wonderful stay !!

Beautiful apartment


This location was perfect and the apartment was absolutely stunning. Fernando met us when we arrived, explained all aspects of the operation of the apartment and lift and made sure that we felt comfortable. This is a lovely apartment with the original 19th century architectural details beautifully restored. It is the most spacious property I have ever stayed in. We were a party of 7, two couples and three singles and we each had a spacious private bedroom and bath. The kitchen and dining room were large and well equipped with everything we needed to eat at home. I really can\'t imagine a better location - overlooking Puerta de Alcala and Retiro park. Many wonderful restaurants, shopping and the Prado museum within walking distance. I have rented many properties over the years and this ranks in the top three. I would recommend this property without any reservations!

A beautiful spacious apartment in the center of Madrid !


If you are looking for an amazing location , spacious, clean with all the essential needs apartment don\'t go any further with your search . This apartment and the owner Fernando were the highlight of our trip. Our plane was delayed and Fernando was waiting to check us in for more than 2 hours in front of the building. He walked us through his beautiful apartment , gave us all the information we needed . Sent us a file with all the best places to eat and visit when you in Madrid . He was more than helpful when our trip went south and we got robbed in the house that we rented in Malaga after we left Madrid . We had to come back to Madrid to the embassy to get our new passports that were stolen and he opened his doors for us in middle of the night so we can stay over . I\'m forever greatful to Fernando and everything he did for us . His place is safe and he will go above and beyond to make you feel welcome ! Thank you Fernando .
