This apartment is right by the palace and about a mile from the Prado and the other museums. You can walk just about anywhere in the downtown area from here. It\'s a cute little apartment that was a great size for one person, and probably would have been fine for two as well. The kitchen has everything you need and I did a lot of cooking. My only complaint is that there isn\'t a ton of hot water and I would run out after an 8 minute shower every day.
As others have mentioned, the apartment is exactly as advertised - small, a bit awkward if you are tall - but clean and very quiet. But best of all is the LOCATION. Other than two taxi rides to get to bus stations to make day trips to Toledo and Segovia, we were always able to walk to wherever we wanted to go. The tapas bars near the Plaza Mayor are just a few minutes away. There is a supermarket just down the street - turning left on Bailen when you come to the end of Calle Angosta. The owner met us right on time when we came by taxi from Atocha station and he arranged a taxi to pick us up at the end of the stay. The driver had a key for the building so we did not have to wait on the street for him to show up and could just leave the room key hanging on the back of the door when we left. Very efficient. It was our first trip to Madrid and this little apartment added a lot to our having a good time.
