Description

With quick, easy access to the Gulf and Atlantic Ocean, this home is perfect for fishing, snorkeling and boating. This three-bedroom, two-bath home, which sleeps eight, has a 60-foot dock with ample room for your boat. It is only one house away from the mouth of a deep-water canal that leads directly to the Gulf. There is plenty of off-street parking for your vehicles and boat trailer. A free local boat ramp is just a few blocks away. This home is designed for people who love to fish. It has a bait freezer, fish-cleaning station and deluxe gas grill. After you prepare your catch, you can dine indoors or outdoors on the wraparound deck while watching the sunset. 
 
After a day of fishing and boating, take a dip in the swimming pool; then relax with friends and family in the new 7-person hot tub. Outside lighting illuminates the deck and pool and adds to the romance and ambience of the evening. You can also enjoy your favorite movies with the free WIFI and DVR from one of the four flat screen TVs.
 
Your vacation home is located at the end of a quiet street between a canal and nature sanctuary. So, after a restful night, start your day watching the sunrise over the peaceful nature preserve while sitting in the Adirondack captain chairs on the east side of the wraparound deck. Take advantage of the adjacent nature preserve to canoe or kayak to one of the locals' favorite snorkeling areas.
 
With more than 1,700 square feet under air, this home has multiple entertaining areas where you can spend time with family and friends or quiet time alone. The entry level has a den that offers an entertaining area with a TV, sleeper sofa and love seat. Adjacent to the den is the master bedroom with a king-size bed and its own TV. The master bathroom is conveniently located near the pool and hot tub. Upstairs there is an open-plan living and dining area with a TV and well-equipped kitchen. There is also a full bath, and two more bedrooms—one with a king-size bed and TV and another with two twins. All the beds come with luxurious memory foam, extra blankets, and pillows.
 
Our home is available as a weekly rental from 4 p.m. Saturday to 10 a.m. Saturday.
The pool is heated in the winter at 80 degrees.
This is a nonsmoking home. Smoking is NOT allowed inside.

Rental Agreement: Please read the agreement carefully. Print, sign and scan the agreement and send it to us. By signing this agreement, the undersigned acknowledges that he or she is authorized to bind any and all guests or visitors to the obligations outlined in the agreement. The person signing the agreement must be at least 25 years old, be the responsible party and must be a member of the group at the property. A guest signing the rental agreement assumes all responsibility for the actions and behavior of all guests and agrees to follow the rules of the property posted therein and city and county ordinances.

Wonderful stay, great house, awesome owners


Greg and Melinda are terrific to work with. They allowed us to ship our fishing rods to them prior to our arrival and when they didn\'t arrive (thanks USPS), Greg was gracious enough to loan us fishing poles. They also worked with us on our arrival time as we had a few stops along the way from the Ft. Lauderdale airport. (Hint - we flew into Ft. Lauderdale and out of Miami, and rented a car from Ft. Lauderdale, returning to Miami, and both the airfare and rental car were cheaper than flying in and out of the same airport.) The house is large enough for the whole family. The beds were super comfy, the kitchen well stocked, the washer and dryer definitely came in handy, as well as the outdoor grill. We used the grill almost daily. Greg and Melinda even had disposable pans for use on the grill. The hot tub and pool were sparkling clean and we basked in the sunshine on the lounge chairs provided. Although we did not have our boat, the dock is large and if you rent jet skis or kayaks, you are in the gulf in a few minutes. My husband also had fun fishing on the dock. I think one of the best parts of the house is the covered deck right outside the kitchen that runs the length of the back of the house. There is a dining table and chairs and we ate most meals out on the deck in order to enjoy the view and the perfect weather. There are also a table and chairs that look out from the front of the house, and we sat there and enjoyed our morning coffee and watched the sun coming up. I would highly recommend Greg and Melinda\'s house. It\'s conveniently located to lots of restaurants and shopping and fishing, yet on a dead end street that is very quiet. We had a wonderful stay and we definitely want to return. You couldn\'t ask for better owners to work with, either. We appreciated how easy it was to communicate with them, before, during and after our stay.

A Great place to stay


Our visit to Marathon was outstanding, made possible by staying at Catch of the Day. The home is beautiful, accommodating, clean and comfortable for 5 us. We brought our boat and the dock was perfect with easy access not just to the Gulf but 15 minutes to the Atlantic. The owners were great, informative, helpful! Would love to come again!

My family and I really enjoyed our stay at Catch of the day. This house is located in a great location, quick and easy access to the Gulf or Atlantic if your bringing your boat. The owners, Greg and Melinda were great and were very concerned that we had everything we needed and enjoyed our stay. We will definitely be returning next summer.

Great Tropical Getaway


This was our 6th trip to Marathon and I have to say this is one of the nicest homes we have stayed in. The 8 of us (my family and my sister\'s family) really enjoyed staying at your home! It was clean and had great space for all of us! The 2 living rooms gave each family their own TV time if needed. The pool and hot tub were wonderful after a day out on the boat. The dock was plenty large enough for the 23 foot Sea Hunt we rented and our boys loved the dock fishing. Greg and Melinda were wonderful hosts and really thought of everything when it came to essentials. We had left my son\'s charger behind and were notified right away and Wittekind\'s mailed it back to us. If you are looking for a nice quiet tropical getaway with tons to do around you, this is a great house to stay in. The sunsets are just gorgeous!

Amazing place to stay


The house is situated in a central location with easy access to amenities, restaurants, and attractions like the Dolphin Research Center and kayak rentals. The house is spacious, beautifully decorated, and comfortable. The wrap around second floor deck provides great 360° views around the property to watch the sunrise or sunset and is a great place for having family meals. The pool is clean and well-maintained as well as the relaxing hot tub. The dock provides a great place to cast your fishing line or just watch the wild life. I can\'t say enough about how great a time we had staying here. In addition, Greg and Melinda are very caring and attentive hosts ensuring our comfort and satisfaction throughout our stay. We are looking forward to our next trip down to the Florida Keys!
